About Rhonda Waters

Rhonda Waters is the founder of Waters Learning and Development, and for over 25 years, she has followed her passion for helping leaders and teams to evolve, adapt and grow in the face of complex and ever-increasing demands for their time and energy and to do that without sacrificing their own well-being. She believes that at the heart of transformation is human energy, and by harnessing that energy, giving it purposeful direction and building capacity, we have a limitless ability to deliver healthy, high performance, and to adapt and remain resilient in the face of life’s storms.

The leaders of today are facing the challenge of re-writing the script for their organizations and their employee experience and re-defining the leader of the future. Leaders are tasked with creating high performance cultures, but traditional tools of command and control are not suited to today’s demands. Rhonda offers a new tool kit – one that includes tools to help manage and expand energy capacity to fuel high performance and grow resilience, both individually and organizationally. She supports leaders in creating an energized culture that emphasizes the power of purpose, well-being, resilience, connections and curiosity.

Rhonda has coached and trained leaders at all stages of their leadership journey, from high potential individual contributors to the C-Suite. She has been an elite performance coach with The Human Performance Institute for 18 years, specializing in human energy and resilience. Her client list ranges from Fortune 100 and 500 companies to non-profits and educational institutions, including NC State University, Johns Hopkins University, PepsiCo, Glaxo SmithKline, Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, Deloitte, Nationwide Insurance, Johnson & Johnson, Starbucks, Genentech, General Electric, Chevron, Lockheed Martin, and John Deere.

Rhonda holds a Master of Education degree in Training and Development, with a minor in Organizational Psychology from North Carolina State University. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education with a minor in psychology from Appalachian State University. Rhonda has completed numerous advanced training programs and has certifications from various professional organizations, including The Center for Applications of Psychological Type, The Hay Group certification for Emotional and Social Intelligence coaching, DDI International trainer certification in Behavioral Event Interviewing, the Vella Approach certification in Advanced Learning and Curriculum Design, and DiSC Personality Assessment.

Rhonda embraces a growth mindset and often refers to John Maxwell’s quote, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn” as a guiding principle in life and work. Home for Rhonda is Raleigh, North Carolina, and in her free time, she can be found on the lake with her family, hiking and biking with friends, or curled up with a good book and her fur babies.
