the more you give
the more you grow
the more you grow
the more you have to give
From Pilot Founder Chris Cappy:
Since the early 1990s, beginning with my work at The Drucker Foundation in New York City, I’ve been dedicated to giving time and advisory support to U.S. based NGOs and non-profits. These efforts are in service of my core mission in life, ‘to give and to grow.’
Since our 2002 relocation to Colorado and with an eye on acting more locally, we are proud to support and work with these regionally focused organizations:
Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley
The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley (CFGV) is “Here for Good.” Since 2001, we strengthen and enrich the community through engaged philanthropy, thoughtful grantmaking, strategic education, and collaborative leadership. This Foundation supports well over eighty non-profits in the Gunnison Valley. My work here since 2005 has been serving on both the Board and Advisory Board, executive coaching, running strategy sessions and most recently helping with the launch of STEP (sustainable… tough…efficient… purposeful) advisory services. This group of over forty community leaders offers technical, strategic and leadership consulting to build capability and capacity to our many Gunnison Valley non-profits.
Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte
Since 1987, the Adaptive Sports Center enhances the quality of life of people with disabilities through exceptional outdoor adventure activities. The successful programs the ASC provides are inclusive to families and friends, empower our participants in their daily lives and have a positive enduring effect on self-efficacy, health, independence and overall well-being. ASC currently delivers over 6000 lessons a year. My ongoing work here since 2006 has been with executive coaching, staff development, talent insights assessment and as a support troubleshooting issues. My 2016 strategy meeting launched the initiative, design and building of a five story $15 million base facility which opened in 2020… with zero debt!
TACT (Teaching the Autism Community Trades) Englewood, Colorado
Since 2017, the Mission of TACT is to encourage and empower the full spectrum of individuals with autism through education and employment in the skilled trades. TACT’s remarkable success has recently achieved national recognition and in the process of being deployed to a number of other states. It is estimated that 1 in 33 of the US population are somewhere on the autism spectrum. My relationship coaching the co-founders and working with their staff has opened my eyes to a ground-breaking program that provides careers with real futures for this large and under-served pool of many talents.
